Name Numerology

Name Numerology is the basis for figuring out the next three numbers in your chart.

But first, here's a short history of numerology.

The ancient art of numerology dates back to Pythagoreas, the Greek Mathmatician who lived from 569-470 B.C.

Some historians argue that it dates back even further than that.

One area where everyone can agree is that numerology works on the basis that every numeric value corresponds to a cosmic vibration.

These vibrations can tell us a great deal.

They can tell us about someone's character, where their talents lie, personality traits, desires, likes, dislikes, and even what motivates them.

Power Name or
Name Numerology

Name numerology reveals a great deal about how we present ourselves to the outside world.

Your power name or character number describes your public self. This is how you present yourself at social events and at work. This also shows how you express your innate talents.

This is who you are when you are away from home or out of your comfort zone.

To figure your power name number you need to add up all the letters in your name.

Each letter corresponds to a number as in the numerology chart above.

Use your full given name.

For married woman you can use your maiden name along with your husband's last name.

We will use Thomas Alva Edison as our example.

Thomas = T(2)+ H(8) + O(6) + M(5) + A(1) + S(1) = 23 = 2 + 3 = 5

Alva = (A)1 + (L)2 + (V)5 + (A)1 = 9.

Edison = (E)5 +(D)4 + (I)9 + (S)1 + (O)6 + (N)5 = 30 = 3.

So Edison's three numbers are 5 + 9 + 3 = 17 = 1 +7 = 8. His power name number is 8.

Eight symbolizes someone who is ambitious, and will work diligently until their goals are achieved. Again this definitely fits for Thomas Edison.

Name and Numerology:
Your Soul Number

In name numerology your soul number describes how you feel and your heart's desire. To figure your soul number you add only the vowels of your name.

Let's try a new example using name numerology.

The actress Andie MacDowell's (far left in photo) birth name is Rosalie Anderson MacDowell. To figure out her soul number we would add the numbers that correspond to the vowels in her name (see numerology chart above).

The vowels in her first name = (o)6 + (a)1 + (i)9 + (e)5 = 21 = 3.

Anderson = (a)1 + (e)5 + (o)6 = 12 = 3. And MacDowell = (a)1 + (o)6 + (e)5 = 12 = 3.

I just picked that name at random and had never done this before. That is pretty astounding: all of her names add up to 3. This makes complete sense because her heart's desire was to be an actor and 3 is the number we associate with creative expression.

Her full birth name adds up to a 9 and this stands for someone who is strong, humane, and courageous.

It's good to see what your nicknames or first name alone resonates too because that can show you what you are working on at this time in your life.

For fun let's see what her current name resonates with. Andie =(a)1 + (n)5 + (d) 3 + (i)9 + (e)5 = 14 = 5.

MacDowell = (a)1 + (o)6 + (e)5 = 12 = 3.

So we would add 5 + 3 and we learn that the soul's desire of her current name = 8.

Eight is the number we associate with finances and success. People with eight's are driven to succeed and she has been successful not only in films but is also the covergirl model for L'oreal cosmetics.

Hidden Desires

Name numerology is used again as we calculate our soul number. Your hidden desires number is related to your soul number.

This number represents your desires similiar to your soul number except these disires are hidden - many times from yourself as well. They represent the part of you that you may not even be aware of.

To calculate your hidden desires number you add up the consonants of your name.

Let's try Bill Gates for this example.

B(2) + L(3) + L(3) = 8

G(7) + T(2) + S(1) = 10 = 1
