Tarot Card Layouts:

The Empress

Tarot Card Layouts: The Empress: This card shows us a figure seated on a comfortable throne.

If we look carefully we can see that she is pregnant.

This is the Empress and she represents fruition and the coming of harvest (for whatever seeds were planted).

This is further reinforced by the grain growing at her feet, which is ready to be gathered in.

3 The Empress

The ruler of The Empress is the planet Venus and this card also relates to the creative arts and the cause of love.

The figure demonstrates the virtue of attainment through achievement and both material and inner success.

She is the Mother archetype and relates to the kind of person who will nurture others and creatively inspire and support others.

In a primal sense she is Nature and all growing things – both physical and artistic.

If The Empress shows up in your tarot card layouts you are a creative person as this card relates to artists, musicians, writers and all those who aspire to create in any aspect of their lives.

Another central theme of this card is beauty. The central figure is at peace in her environment (compare this card to the Emperor, for example) and experiencing life in abundance.

At first glance this tarot card layouts appears passive, but is in fact showing us that one aspect of life’s cycles is the reaping of what we have sown and the need for pause and reflection.

Although this is very much a feminine card, the principles demonstrated relate equally to men and perhaps need to even more so because they speak of inner harmony and balance as well as outer, more worldly harmony.

In your tarot card layouts, this card can be an indicator of positive health in a reading and also an indication of the need to return to Nature and reconnect ourselves to the environment, whether it be through gardening, a vacation or simply making time to get outdoors and readjust the pace of living.

In some respects she is the High Priestess after action and initiation have been taken; she is knowledge put into practice to achieve physical and metaphysical results.

In the background we can see trees and flowing water, indicating growth and emotional stability.

The Venus symbol on he heart-shaped shield design at her side is further emphasized by the flower motif on her gown.

The crown or tiara on her head is filled with stars, indicating a spiritual awareness and another link with the feminine figure of Mary, archetypal Queen of Heaven.

Lastly, if you receive this symbol in your tarot card layouts, it symbolizes another means of getting in touch with power of the sacred feminine and an indication that someone has grown into their own sense of power and their endeavors are now literally bearing fruit.

The red and orange warmer colours beneath her are also indicative of a passionate nature and, taking into account all other factors, this is an extremely positive card for a relationship.
